A Lounge Built for Long Evenings

Who we are

Rotana Shisha Lounge sits on Vaughton St S in Highgate, a few minutes from Birmingham city centre and Digbeth. We opened with one idea: a luxury lounge in Birmingham where the room does as much work as the menu. Low, warm lighting. Carved stone. Seating you can disappear into for three hours without noticing the time.

We are entirely alcohol free. That is deliberate. It keeps the room calm, keeps mixed groups and families comfortable, and means the drinks list is built around fresh mocktails, thick shakes, smoothies and juices rather than an afterthought behind a bar.

What we take seriously

The shisha. Every bowl is packed to order, coals are changed by hand through the session, and re-heads are half price. We keep Al Fakher classics, frozen premium flavours and our own house blends, including the Rotana Special.

The kitchen. Smash burgers, grills, wraps and loaded fries are cooked to order, and the food is halal. Desserts run just as late — molten lava pudding, cheesecakes, cookie dough and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

The hours. We are open from 1PM Monday to Thursday and serve until 2AM, until 4AM on Friday and Saturday, and from 2PM until 2AM on Sunday. Late-night Birmingham is our busiest window and we staff for it.

Who comes to Rotana

Date nights and quiet mid-week evenings. Groups of friends after dinner in the city centre. Birthday tables. Football, boxing and UFC crowds on the big screens. Remote workers using the lounge as a daytime workspace before the evening rush. The room handles all of it because it was designed for people who stay.
