How we make shisha at Rotana

A good pipe is built rather than poured. Tobacco is fluffed instead of pressed so air moves through the bowl, the heat management device is fitted properly, and coals are burned through before they reach your table. It takes a few minutes longer and it is the entire difference between a smooth session and a harsh one.

Coals are changed by hand through the evening, and re-heads are half price — we would rather you stayed than left when the flavour faded.

Flavours and brands

Al Fakher covers the classics people order every night: double apple, mint, grape, blueberry, lemon mint. Our premium and frozen range gives you a colder, sharper draw, and our house specials are blends we mix in the lounge — including the Rotana Special, the one most tables order twice. Not every flavour is printed on the menu, so ask your server what else is open.

Late-night shisha in Birmingham

We are open from 1PM Monday to Thursday and serve until 2AM, until 4AM on Friday and Saturday, and 2PM until 2AM on Sunday. That makes Rotana one of the later shisha lounges near Birmingham city centre, Highgate and Digbeth — and the reason so many groups arrive after dinner or after a fixture.

Pairing shisha with the rest of the menu

Mint and citrus flavours sit well with rich desserts like molten lava pudding; double apple and the house blends work better after a full grill. Everything pairs with a fresh mocktail — we do not serve alcohol, so the drinks list is mocktails, shakes, smoothies and juices.
